ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO – One person is dead and another is in critical condition after a small plane crashed at Los Altos Golf Course late Friday morning, according to New Mexico State Police.
Investigators say the single‑engine Cessna 400 was attempting an emergency landing around 11:44 a.m. when it went down on the golf course. Two people were on board at the time of the crash.
Both occupants were taken to a local hospital. One person has since died from their injuries. The second remains in critical condition.
Albuquerque Fire Rescue responded with 12 units and extricated both occupants from the aircraft before they were transported.
The Federal Aviation Administration has been notified and is assisting with the investigation. Authorities say the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
