ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO – New Mexico State Police are investigating a fatal incident that occurred early Monday morning on I‑40 eastbound.
According to NMSP, troopers were dispatched at 4:56 a.m. to mile marker 164 for reports of a person struck by a vehicle. The individual was pronounced dead at the scene.
The roadway has since reopened, but the investigation remains active.
