
Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office is inviting the community to help decorate a memorial for Sergeant Michael Schlattman, who was killed in the line of duty when a semi-truck hit him during a traffic stop on I-40 near Carnuel.In his memory, the department placed a truck outside the East Area Command Center off Public School Road, asking the community to help decorate it in Sergeant Schlattman’s honor. Community members have already begun contributing to the memorial.The memorial features emotional messages from the community. Everyone is encouraged to visit the memorial and leave their own messages at the Sheriff’s command center in Tijeras, whether you live in the East Mountain area or not.
