In a statement, Carradine’s family said he had lived with bipolar disorder for nearly two decades. They described him as a bright presence in their lives and said they wanted to acknowledge his long struggle with the illness.
“In a world that can feel so dark, Bobby was always a beacon of light,” the family said, calling his battle with bipolar disorder “valiant.”
Carradine’s brother, actor Keith Carradine, told Deadline that the family hoped to shed light on the challenges of mental illness while celebrating Robert’s talent and character.
