Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — The City of Albuquerque says bus ridership is up. ABQ RIDE saw an increase of 360-thousand rides in 2025, a five-percent jump from the previous year. Total ridership across all services reached nearly eight million. The city attributes the growth to phase one of its three-year improvement plan, which adjusted bus routes and expanded weekend service. Phase two begins in April with plans to hire 117 drivers, add 28 buses, and bring on 20 mechanics. The full overhaul is scheduled to wrap up in 2029.
