Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — A downtown landmark from the 1970s is being repurposed as the former Wells Fargo building becomes the Lomas Tower. The project will turn the structure into affordable apartments with added commercial and retail space.Developers say the building will get a refreshed look but will retain key historic features. They’re also considering office space, a café, a restaurant, and even early childhood education uses. While the shift from office to housing creates new possibilities, they say it also brings challenges in redesign and construction.
