Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) -More people are riding the bus in Albuquerque according to new stats released by the city. Last year, the city says that ridership on ABQ RIDE was up by 360-thousand more rides compared to 2024 which is an increase of 5-percent. Total rides for 2025 was nearly 8-million which includes the city buses, paratransit and ABQ RIDE Connect.
Phase one of a 3 year improvement plan which updated bus routes, resulted in more arrivals and more weekend service. The next phase of the changes will begin in April and the plan includes adding 117 driver vacancies and add 28 buses and 20 mechanics.
The full improvement plan should be completed in 2029.
