Albuquerque, NM(KKOB) – Interstate-40 westbound is shut down this morning at Mile Marker 144 which is just west of the Atrisco Vista and the Rio Puerco Exits due to a serious multi-vehicle crash that happened around 4:30 this morning, reports from the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s office indicated that there were vehicles on fire and one person has been killed in the crash.
BCSO deputies are investigating and assisting on scene while fire/rescue crews work to extinguish the fire and treat multiple patients.
The closure is expected to last for several hours. If you are driving west of the city towards Grants and Gallup you will have to exit the Interstate at Atrisco Vista.
