Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Lawmakers wrapped up the 2026 session with several major bills, and the governor is highlighting the results in her final year in office. The new $33.4 billion budget boosts funding for child care, health care, public safety, roads and education. Key measures include universal child care expansion, medical malpractice reform, and a $1.5 billion transportation bond for road improvements. Lawmakers also approved new mental-health intervention standards, law-enforcement protections and expanded literacy and math programs for students.
