Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Los Alamos National Labs has released its fiscal year 2025 economic impact report and the numbers continue to indicate the high economic impact the lab has for the state of New Mexico. The numbers indicate that close to $3 billion of the labs budget of just over $5 billion, goes back into the state in the form of salaries, gross receipts tax revenue and contracts. The report indicates that the National lab employs almos 16-thousand 500 people. The employees work primarily in Los Alamos, Santa Fe, Rio Arriba and Taos counties. The state received about $141 million in gross receipts taxes just last fiscal year.
