Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –University Stadium is hoping to make improvements at the 65 year old facility and are requesting $50 million in state funding for the makeover. The money would focus attention on the stadium’s critical systems like expanding and adding restrooms, widening the concourses and renovating entrances on the north side of the stadium according to the Albuquerque Journal. The renovation issue came to light this past football season when capacity crowds overwhelmed the facility with long lines, crowded concourses and closed restrooms. If approved, this would be the first stage of a planned five-phase renovation for the stadium.
