New Mexico — Nearly ten million dollars in federal funding has been approved for public safety and infrastructure projects across New Mexico.
U.S. Representative Gabe Vasquez announced the funding on Monday, saying the money comes from Community Project Funding included in a federal transportation and housing spending bill.
According to Vasquez’s office, the funding will support projects in multiple communities, including Albuquerque, Las Cruces, Sunland Park, Carlsbad, Anthony, and rural areas across southern and central New Mexico.
Projects funded through the bill include upgrades to wastewater systems, road and intersection improvements, repairs to senior housing, renovations to police facilities, and improvements to emergency housing and community service spaces.
The funding is part of the federal budget for the 2026 fiscal year and applies to projects in New Mexico’s Second Congressional District.
County and city governments will manage the individual projects as funds are distributed.
