ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO – If you’ve ever inched through Balloon Fiesta traffic with your RV in tow, you already know the struggle — but securing a spot to actually stay at the event? That part goes a whole lot faster. RV reservations for the 2026 Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta open Wednesday, Jan. 28, at 9 a.m., and history shows they disappear almost as quickly as the balloons drift into the sky.
This year’s signup process starts with a virtual waiting room, which opens 20 minutes early. It’s a chance for RVers to catch their breath, go over cancellation rules, and make sure they’re clicking the right site before the rush begins.
“RVing is a wonderful way to experience Balloon Fiesta,” said Executive Director Julie Morgas Baca. “Being right on site allows our guests to enjoy the magic of Balloon Fiesta from morning mass ascensions to evening glows.” And for thousands of RV travelers, that “magic” is the whole point — waking up to burner blasts and ending the day under glowing balloons.
How Much Are RV Sites?
The Fiesta offers a range of options for every type of traveler:
- Standard: $60 per night
- Box View: $70 per night
- VIP West/East: $130 per night
- VIP North: $130 per night
- President’s Compound: $300 per night
Just like past years, parking is rally‑style, which means RVs are placed in the order they arrive. Want the perfect neighbor? Better roll in together.
The 2026 Balloon Fiesta will run October 3–11, bringing nine days of mass ascensions, evening glows, and the kind of sunrise traffic jams only New Mexico’s biggest event can inspire.
More reservation details are available on the Balloon Fiesta website — and with spots known to evaporate fast, being ready right at 9 a.m. might be the most important prep you make all year.
