Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –A new online portal set up by the City of Santa Fe will make it easier for renters to report a landlord for income discrimination. Renters who believe they’ve been rejected due to the type of job they have or how they pay their rent can use the portal to report the issue. It only applies to lawful income, including wages, pensions, child support, and housing vouchers. The portal also shares what landlords and property managers need to know in certain situations. The effort is part of Santa Fe’s Fair Housing Ordinance that took effect in August.
