Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –For a second year in a row overdose deaths in NM have declined according to the NM Health Care Authority. The HCA says an overall decrease in overdose deaths of 8% have occurred since 2021. The HCA says the continued decline is attributed to expanded access to treatment, harm-reduction services, and community based prevention efforts statewide. The release of the numbers coincides with the state’s observation of Substance Use Disorder Treatment Month in January.
