ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument will reopen on February 1, 2026, following its seasonal closure. The Bureau of Land Management reminds visitors that reservations are required and must be made in advance—there are no on-site or same-day tickets.
Starting January 16, reservations for dates through March 31 can be booked at Recreation.gov. A new $1 transaction fee will apply to each ticket, raising the total cost from $5 to $6 per person. The fee also applies to youth tickets and those reserved with America the Beautiful Passes.
Visitors must complete two steps before entry:
- Reserve a BLM Ticket for each person in your group at Recreation.gov.
- Purchase a Cochiti Pueblo Tribal Access Pass separately. Federal passes do not waive this tribal fee.
The Northern New Mexico Resource Advisory Council approved the fee change in January 2025, and the business plan was finalized in September 2025. For details, visit the BLM recreation business plans page.
