Ruidoso, NM (KKOB) – A Ruidoso Downs man who is currently in jail, has now been charged with a jewelry store burglary in Ruidoso during the 2024 wildfires.
New Mexico State Police, were investigating the burglary at the Johnson Jewelry in Ruidoso, where they found plenty of evidence left by the burglar including DNA evidence which was sent to the FBI laboratory for analysis.
Now, 25-year old Uziah Alañiz is charged with Aggravated Burglary of the jewelry store. Alañiz, is already in jail at the Northeast New Mexico Detention Facility in Clayton for another crime. NMSP, went to the detention center and formally charged him with the burglary in Ruidoso.
