Albuquerque, NM (KKOB)-
A large warehouse fire near I-40 and 6th Street kept roads closed and firefighters busy for hours this morning.
Albuquerque Fire Rescue says crews arrived around 3:30 a.m. to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the building. Thirteen fire units responded, and the fire was under control in about 24 minutes. Officials report most of the damage was on the east side of the structure, which is now a total loss with significant collapse. AFR says the building has had multiple fires over the past three years linked to homeless encampments. Preliminary reports indicate this fire likely started from an exterior homeless camp fire and spread inside.
