Clovis, NM (KKOB) – Police in Clovis have an arrest warrant for a 16-year old teen in connection with the shooting death of a 15-year old earlier this week.
Clovis police report that the boy died when he and some of his friends were playing with firearms in a bedroom of a home. The boys apparently thought the gun was unloaded when it fired and a bullet struck and killed the 15-year old. Police say that once the gun went off, the victims friends left the house and took the guns with them.
Now, a 16-year old teenager is being sought with an active warrants for involuntary manslaughter, a minor in possession of a handgun, tampering with evidence and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Detectives with the Clovis Police Department, along with members of the Major Crimes Unit, are actively working to locate the shooter and the other juveniles involved.
