Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) – The city of Albuquerque wants your input on how to improve safety along Lead and Coal Avenues. For years, drivers along Coal and Lead have complained about safety issues, specifically between Oak Street and Washington. Residents in neighborhoods in that corridor have expressed their concerns over property damage due to crashes and unsafe conditions for cyclists and pedestrians.
The city wants to hear about these concerns as well as suggestions as part of the Lead and Coal Corridor Safety Survey. The city also says that they have implemented some safety improvements such as installing better red light traffic signal technology, improving signal coordination at 30 mph and installing speed enforcement devices.
