Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –A ten acre parcel of land next to the Petroglyph National monument may soon be the site for a proposed 283 unit apartment complex. Plans to build on the site are moving forward after a 5 to 1 vote of the city’s Environmental Planning commission despite concerns from community and tribal members. Tribal members say the project would disrupt a view that tribal leaders hold sacred. One resident claimed the character of their community of single-story homes would be affected by a three story apartment complex right next door. No word on next steps for the development.
