San Miguel County, NM (KKOB) – A Tecolote, NM man is wanted for a murder over the weekend in San Miguel County involving the killing of his brother-in-law. 55-year old Michael Shawn Micholls of Tecolote, is charged with an open county of murder and several other charges related to the shooting death of his brother-in-law Albert Salazar following an argument between the two men. According to New Mexico State Police, they received a call Saturday night in Tecolote where they found Salazar with gunshot wounds inside a home. He died soon after at the scene.
The Albuquerque Journal reports, that Nicholls had made threats before the shooting and that during the argument with Salazar he allegedly shot him twice.
NMSP is warning the general public, that Nicholls is considered armed and dangerous and anyone with information is asked to call 911.
