Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) – An 18-year old Albuquerque man will remain in jail after his arrest for posting pictures of guns and cash on his Instagram account. According to police, Wyatt Ruiz, showed of of the guns which had a switch, that turns the semi-automatic gun into a fully automatic weapon, which is illegal in New Mexico. KOB-TV reports, that during the hearing in Judge Britt Baca’s courtroom, prosecutors showed that Ruiz has an extensive violent criminal history and is facing federal charges for drug trafficking. $10,000 in cash and 250 grams of cocaine were found along with the guns inside the home. Prosecutors argued, that Ruiz is a danger to the community and should remain in jail until his trial. His attorney told the judge that he was “just a kid being a kid.” Judge Baca wasn’t convinced by the defense attorney’s argument and ordered that Ruiz remain in jail until his trial.
