Santa Fe, NM (KKOB) – A 55-year old New Mexico man is wanted for a homicide that happened over the weekend in San Miguel County. Michael Shawn Nicolls, is wanted on an open count of first degree murder in connection with the incident that happened Saturday night in the Tecolote area in San Miguel County. On December 20, 2025, at approximately 8:20 PM, agents with the New Mexico State Police Investigations Bureau were called to investigate the homicide. Nicholls is considered armed and dangerous. The public is advised not to approach. Nicholls is described as a 55-year-old white male, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing 180 pounds, with blue eyes.
