Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) – APD homicide detectives, have charged a 16-year-old girl for the fatal stabbing of her father during a violent argument between her parents late Saturday in Northeast Albuquerque. Police responded around 9:30 p.m. Saturday night, to a home on the 12000 block of Skyline Rd., N.E. and found 49-year old Robert McCall, had been stabbed in the neck. He was taken to the hospital where he died as a result of his wounds.
16-year old Shaianne Kasero-McCall, told detectives she stabbed her father after an argument between her parents had escalated and became physical, and she said she was trying to defend her mother..
The girls mother, Katherine Kasero, told detectives, that Robert McCall, had been abusive in the past, and he was intoxicated and pushed her down inside the apartment.
According to detectives, the mother and daughter, had different versions of the dispute that led to the stabbing. Shaianne Kasero-McCall said her father was “grappling” with her mother during the stabbing, but Katherine Kasero said she was in a separate room and did not see the stabbing. Detectives stated that the 16-year old never stated that she was in fear for herself or her mother. She said she wanted her father’s abusive actions to stop.
After consulting with the District Attorney’s Office, detectives charged Shaianne Kasero-McCall with an open count of murder. She was booked overnight into the Bernalillo County Juvenile Detention Center.
