Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –A federal jury conviction in July has resulted in a life sentence for an Anthony New Mexico man. Othon Jorge Zamarripa was arrested in 2023 following reports that Zamarripa had sexually abused two relatives who were 10 and 15 at the time of his arrest. Acting U.S. Attorney Ryan Ellison’s office stated that Zamarripa “abused his position of trust as a caregiver by coercing minors to engage in illegal sexual activity through manipulation, threats, physical abuse, and the use of online pornography to exert control and maintain secrecy.” The federal life sentence does not allow for possibility of parole.
