Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –The NM Sports Hall of Fame announced its 2025 class of inductees this week. The impressive list includes a two-time Olympian, former UNM distance runner Courtney Frerichs (frer icks) who won silver at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. Former Artesia Bulldog quarterback, Landry Jones who played for Oklahoma and later the Pittsburgh Steelers. Anita Maxwell, who continues to be NMSU Women’s basketball scoring leader even after 30 years. John Fields, a Las Cruces native who has taken his NM and Texas mens golf teams to 33 NCAA tournaments with the Longhorns winning the national championship twice. And, Miles Watters a Clayton High School grad from 1973 who coached the Yellowjackets’ girls basketball team to 11 state titles. The inductees will be introduced at a news conference on December 27th and later that day they’ll be presented to the crowd at the NM Bowl.
