Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) – 14 people were displaced during a building fire near downtown Albuquerque. Fire crews responded to put out a fire at an apartment building on the 400 block of Broadway SE. Fire crews arrived to respond to an outside fire, and found that smoke had penetrated the basement, sub-floor and first floor of the building. Investigations determined that a small outside fire extended into the building. No one was reported injured due to the fire and it took firefighters about 30 minutes to put the fire under control. AFR reports that two people were detained and questioned about their involvement with the fire. One of the two people was charged with negligent arson. The 14 people who were displaced are receiving help from the property manager for living arrangements.
