Albuquerque, NM (KKOB)- A flight from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, took a brief detour to Albuquerque Monday night. The plane was bound for Denver when a medical emergency occurred onboard the plane. A pregnant passenger went into labor at 30,000 feet, requiring an unplanned landing in New Mexico. After the plane touched down at the Albuquerque International Sunport, the woman was assisted off the plane, and shortly thereafter she gave birth in the back of an Albuquerque Fire Rescue ambulance. Both mother and baby were taken to the University of New Mexico Hospital, and the Kirtland Air Force base reported that they’re both in good condition.
