Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) – One person died and several others were injured in an apartment fire at a city-owned affordable complex for seniors. The fire happened on the 1400 block of Edith NE Wednesday morning. Firefighters arrived to the scene around 11:00 A.M to find smoke and flames showing from one of the apartments. Residents, told fire crews there were people trapped inside. Four victims were rescued from the building and taken to the hospital, while two others were treated on the scene. The person that was killed was inside the burning apartment. Eight residents were displaced and received help from the Red Cross.
Fire investigators will continue trying to find the cause of the fire.
