ESPANOLA, N.M. — New Mexico State Police arrested wanted fugitive Jerome Naranjo on Monday following a coordinated operation in Española.
Investigators tracked Naranjo to a camper trailer on Private Drive after obtaining cell phone location data and additional intelligence. Around 12:30 p.m., Special Operations and Crime Suppression Bureau agents conducted a surround-and-callout. Naranjo exited the trailer and was taken into custody without incident.
During an interview, Naranjo admitted there was a pistol and fentanyl inside the trailer. A search warrant executed later that day uncovered:
- Four rifles and two pistols
- 14.2 grams of fentanyl powder
- 1.2 grams of suspected Suboxone
- Multiple electronic devices
- A stolen pop-up travel trailer
Naranjo was booked into the Cibola County federal holding facility on active state and federal felony warrants, including possession of a firearm by a felon. Authorities say additional charges are expected as the investigation continues.
