RIO RANCHO, NEW MEXICO — The search for a new superintendent at Rio Rancho Public Schools is down to three finalists, the school board announced during its meeting Tuesday night.
The candidates include:
- Todd Resch, currently the district’s executive director of athletics and a longtime RRPS administrator.

- Dr. Robert Dodd, an education leader from Maryland with experience in school district management.

- Dr. Heather Sanchez, from Washington, who has served in leadership roles focused on curriculum and equity.

The board will conduct interviews with the finalists December 15–17. The new superintendent will replace Sue Cleveland, who has led the district since its founding in 1994 and announced her retirement earlier this year.
Rio Rancho Public Schools serves more than 17,000 students across 21 schools and is one of the fastest-growing districts in New Mexico.
