Albuquerque, NM(KKOB) – Albuquerque voters head to the polls today for a mayoral runoff between incumbent Tim Keller and former Bernalillo County Sheriff Darren White. Keller is seeking an unprecedented third term after finishing first in November with 36% of the vote. White received 31%. The race has been marked by attack ads, ethics complaints, and even an AI-generated video falsely depicting Keller. Analysts say turnout will be key, with more than 83,000 ballots already cast during early voting.
Also, voters in two city districts have choices to make as their representatives on the city council. In district one, Stephanie Telles is in the runoff against Joshua Taylor Neal, while Teresa Garcia and current city councilor Klarissa Peña are on the ballot for the district three runoff.
Polls close at 7 p.m. but if you are in line by 7pm you will be able to vote past 7 p.m.
