Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — New Mexico’s Outdoor Equity Fund is opening its final application window for fiscal year 2026. From January 1 through 31, $1.9 million will be available for programs that help young people access outdoor education and career training. Since 2020, the fund has supported more than 106,000 youth across 23 counties. Demand is high—last year, requests totaled $4.9 million, more than double the available funding. The program is the first state-funded initiative in the nation focused on youth outdoor access.
