Early Voting Turnout
Bernalillo County officials report over 82,000 ballots have already been cast, marking a 22% turnout ahead of Election Day. Deputy County Clerk Kelli Baca says increased visibility of the mayoral race and council contests is driving participation.
“You’re seeing the debates, the candidates on the news, and the city council districts very visible on social media platforms,” Baca said. “I think it’s encouraging people to come out and vote.”
Plan Ahead
Officials warn that waiting until Tuesday could mean long lines, as only 50 polling places will be open.
