Albuquerque, NM(KKOB) – A man arrested and charged in the death of a UNM Hospital pediatric nurse went before a judge Monday. 43-year old Brian Boyce, pled not guilty to charges of vehicular homicide and other charges related to his arrest. KRQE reports, that body camera video showing the aftermath of the crash, shows that Boyce was driving the car that hit and killed Alec Montoya while he was crossing Lomas Blvd on his way to work.
Security camera footage of Lomas, shows that before the crash, Boyce was driving weaving in and out of traffic and passing other vehicles. Prosecutors allege, he was driving around 74 mph when the incident happened.
For now, Boyce will remain in the Metropolitan Detention Center until his trial date.
