Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — A 37-year-old New Mexico man is awaiting sentencing after being found guilty of murder. Zebadiah Romero was convicted in federal court for killing a Taos Pueblo man in 2023. Prosecutors say the victim was shot in the back of the head. Evidence presented at trial showed Romero had been evicted and banned from Taos Pueblo in October of that year. The victim’s body was discovered the following month inside a structure near a home on the Pueblo. Romero remains in custody until his sentencing date.
