Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Today in an Albuquerque courtroom Judge Matthew Chavez sentenced Heather Lopez to three years behind bars for aggravated battery. In November 2024, APD responded to the area of Comanche and Eubank where a male victim told police his truck was rear-ended. The man said he started recording the incident, and that’s when Lopez pulled out a gun and aimed it at him. The victim told officers that he took her gun, removed the magazine, and walked away but Lopez pulled out a second gun and shot him in the back and left. Soon after the incident, Lopez turned herself in, claiming it was self defense.
