Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –Bernalillo County acquired the Sedillo Ridge Open Space in the East Mountains in 1999. The area has not been open to the public, and the master plan, approved Tuesday night, will allow for a series of improvements over time to allow for public access. The initial phase includes a small parking lot, a gate, and an access trail from the parking lot to existing trails that connect to other adjoining open spaces. Additional phases will include a second parking area, road improvements, additional trails and trail realignments, erosion control, property fencing and an emergency access two-track road.
