Las Cruces- A 16-year old Las Cruces teen is in custody in connection with the fatal shooting of a 21-year old man and injuring three others during a house party in Las Cruces on Saturday.
The unidentified teen, was arrested Tuesday by detectives and now faces one count of murder and three counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
The shooting happened at a house party on Bugatti Drive in Las Cruces, 21-year old Lance Chavez was shot and killed after some type of incident at the party which led to the shooting.
Las Cruces police say the arrest was possible thanks to several videos and photographs provided to detectives from the public, many of them witnesses to the shooting.
The 16-year old is now in the Doña Ana County Juvenile Detention Center. Las Cruces police would not release the teenagers name stating it was because of his age.
