ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO – After turning Interstate 40 into his personal racetrack, a runaway pig is settling into a much quieter life. Albuquerque police wrangled the animal last Tuesday after a pursuit on the off-ramp to Louisiana Boulevard. Nicknamed Parrot during his stay at the Westside Animal Shelter, the pig was adopted Monday by a local couple.
His new name? Boar-is.
Animal Welfare officials say Boar-is handled his leash walk and car ride home like a pro. At his new home, a few curious dogs greeted him, and soon he’ll meet his future pen mate—a female pig named Swine-nona.
From viral chase to family farm life, Boar-is is officially off the streets and living the good life.
