Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — New charges have been filed against Brian Boyce, the driver accused of killing UNM Hospital nurse Alec Montoya. Boyce, 42, was indicted for homicide by vehicle and open container, while still facing a charge of leaving the scene of an accident. Investigators say Boyce hit Montoya on Lomas Boulevard on October 9 as Montoya crossed near the hospital. Boyce stayed at the scene but fled the hospital after treatment for minor injuries. A warrant was issued Monday for his arrest on the new charges.
