ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO – Heavy law enforcement activity is underway on Central Avenue in Albuquerque following a deputy-involved shooting. According to the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were involved in the incident near Central and Wisconsin this evening. All deputies are safe, officials confirmed.
The investigation remains active and fluid, and a media staging area has been designated at Central and Virginia, northwest corner. Authorities have not released details about what led to the shooting or whether anyone else was injured. Additional information is expected later tonight.
