Albuquerque, NNM (KKOB) — New Mexico gubernatorial candidate Deb Haaland is setting an example for other New Mexicans, urging them to think of the less fortunate during the holidays. Wednesday morning Haaland dropped off 811 pounds of groceries off at the RoadRunner food bank. Haaland said she received emergency food stamps one November “many years ago” when she was a single mother. Adding, that she supports Gov. Lujan Grisham’s allocation of $30 million in state funds to pay for some of the gap in federal funding, and also favors the state continuing to pay for SNAP benefits after Nov. 10th if necessary.
