Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — New Mexico veterans are reminded of a benefit they now have with the State Parks division of a lifetime veterans pass. House Bill 161, a collaboration of the State Parks division and the NM Dept of Veterans’ Services made the benefit possible. Veterans with verified NM residency receive free access to state parks, including unlimited day use and camping in areas managed by the State parks Division of the Energy, Mineral, and Natural Resources Dept. In addition, any NM resident on active duty, along with their spouse and children have free access to any state park on Veterans day.
