Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Brian Rascon will serve 38 years in prison for a rape committed in 1991. The 52-year-old was sentenced Wednesday after a jury found him guilty of raping a woman during a home invasion more than three decades ago. The case was solved in 2020 through DNA evidence from a long-delayed rape kit. In court, Rascon’s daughter and employer asked for leniency, citing his rehabilitation. But the victim and prosecutors pushed for the maximum. The judge acknowledged Rascon’s transformation but said the crime demanded accountability.
