Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) —The Albuquerque Police Department today unveiled its new Fallen Officer Memorial at the APD Police Academy, honoring the ultimate sacrifice made by officers and K-9s who lost their lives in the line of duty. The ceremony took place one day after the 10-year anniversary of the line-of-duty death of Officer Daniel Webster, who was shot and killed in 2015 while conducting a traffic stop. Officer Webster’s service and sacrifice, along with that of all fallen officers, served as a solemn reminder of the risks faced by those who protect and serve the community every day. Mayor Tim Keller and APD Chief Harold Medina joined families of the fallen, department leadership, and fellow officers to pay tribute to the courage and commitment of those who dedicated their lives to safeguarding Albuquerque.
