ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Four candidates for Albuquerque mayor will take the stage tonight in a televised debate hosted by KOAT Action 7 News, the Albuquerque Journal, and News Radio KKOB. The event is part of the “Partners for Impact” initiative and will feature Mayor Tim Keller, former Bernalillo County Sheriff Darren White, former U.S. Attorney Alex M.M. Uballez, and City Councilor Louie Sanchez.
The debate comes as a new KOAT-Albuquerque Journal poll shows 37% of voters remain undecided. Political analyst Brian Sanderoff says the debate could be a key moment for candidates to connect with voters and stand out.
Candidates Mayling Armijo and Eddie Varela were not invited to participate due to low polling numbers.
The debate airs tonight, Wednesday, October 15, at 7 p.m. on KOAT Channel 7. Election Day is Tuesday, November 4.
