ALBUQUERQUE, N.M – Albuquerque Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Wednesday afternoon near Sadie’s restaurant on Academy Road in the city’s northeast area.
Officers responded to reports of gunfire around 3:30 p.m. near the intersection of Academy Road and San Mateo Boulevard NE. According to APD, the incident began with a dispute between two men at the Texas Roadhouse on Pan American Freeway.
Police say one of the men chased the other to the nearby Sadie’s restaurant, where the confrontation escalated. The shooting took place in the restaurant’s parking lot.
The victim, described as an adult male, was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The suspect was taken into custody at the scene.
Authorities have not released the identities of those involved, and the motive behind the dispute remains under investigation. No additional details have been provided at this time.
