Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — New Mexico Attorney General Raúl Torrez has called McKinley County District Attorney Bernadine Martin unfit for the job, and is seeking to get her out of office. However, Martin is continuing the fight to keep her job. Torrez states that she created a hostile work environment, failed to work with witnesses or issue subpoenas on time, leading to case dismissals, and misused taxpayer dollars. Martin has argued that the issues listed are from her first term in office and that any current issues were caused by lawmakers defunding her office in July of this year. She’s called the AG’s move politically motivated.
